ABOUT MOONFLY STUDIOS

Studio roots.
Software future.

Founded by musician, mixing and mastering engineer, and software developer Marco Kuvi, MoonFly Studios brings together years of experience in music and programming to create focused audio tools.

THE BEGINNING

The story behind MoonFly.

My name is Marco Kuvi, and I’m the founder of MoonFly Studios. My journey in music began in 2019, when I started making music as an artist. What began as a creative passion gradually became a deeper interest in the craft behind the sound.

Over the following years, I continued making music and developing my understanding of production. I became increasingly interested in how a recording becomes a finished track — how individual decisions shape its tone, how a vocal finds its place in a mix, and how the final touches can bring everything together.

That curiosity eventually led me to work as a mixing and mastering engineer. Working on music from that perspective gave me a different relationship with audio tools. Plugins became part of my everyday workflow, helping me shape character, solve problems, and translate creative ideas into sound.

MUSIC MEETS CODE

Two disciplines. One direction.

Alongside my work in music, I gained years of professional experience working as a software developer. Programming became another way to turn ideas into something practical — through careful planning, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Working in software development taught me to think beyond whether something simply works. It also matters how clearly it is designed, how reliably it behaves, and how easily someone can use it. Those principles now guide my approach to audio software.

MoonFly Studios brings these two parts of my background together. My experience in music helps me understand what I want to hear and how a tool should feel in a session. My experience in programming helps me turn those ideas into software.

WHY MOONFLY EXISTS

From using plugins to creating them.

After years of working with plugins, I began thinking more closely about the tools I wanted to use myself. I valued clear controls, useful features, and a workflow that allowed me to stay focused on the music.

That experience became the starting point for MoonFly Studios. I wanted to help other artists, producers, and engineers by creating straightforward, dependable plugins with a clear purpose.

My goal is to make tools that are easy to understand and rewarding to explore. You should be able to hear what a control does, understand how it contributes to your sound, and find settings that work for your music.

THE PHILOSOPHY

A clear purpose behind every plugin.

The philosophy behind MoonFly Studios is simple: every feature should earn its place.

Ease of use matters, but so does having enough control to make a tool your own. I want to bring those qualities together through focused interfaces, meaningful controls, and careful attention to how a plugin fits into a session.

Reliability is a priority throughout development. My aim is to create software that people can feel comfortable returning to, whether they are exploring an idea or making the final adjustments to a track.

Spice Engine brings that direction into focus: saturation and excitation in one interface, with ways to explore warmth, grit, presence, and air. It reflects the kind of tool I want MoonFly to stand for — approachable, versatile, and built around audible results.

WHAT COMES NEXT

Looking ahead.

MoonFly Studios is an independent project shaped by my experience as a musician, a mixing and mastering engineer, and a software developer. Creating audio plugins brings those experiences together and gives me an opportunity to turn what I have learned into something useful for others.

As MoonFly grows, my focus remains on developing thoughtful tools, refining the experience, and keeping the needs of the people making music at the center of each decision.

The ambition is to build a collection of plugins that people reach for because they understand them, enjoy using them, and trust them to help shape their sound.
